Legend of the Snake 2 - Snake Versus Dragon* (MGS3) 5:00 (08-05-06)
Keyword: OCR01505
The original "Legend of the Snake was done as an experiment to try to combine elements of orchestra, digital beats, western new age and oriental new age altogether. One year and many projects later, I got the funny idea to see how much I've improved... plus I managed to include the theme song from mgs3.
My inspiration for this one is once again, fighting.   A heroic build up, the pre battle-meditation, remembering why he fights, and then the fight, a setback, gathering the strength to stand up again, and then finally the victory.

Beauty's Abomination* 4:18 (03-28-06)    Keyword: OCR01551
Reuben performs Beauty 's Abomination "live" on You Tube
The Parasite Eve main theme for piano.    Its been a long time since I've heard a melody so deep, with just the right complications to draw the listener into the movement of the piece.   Though I never had the chance to play this game,
I'm glad I was pointed to this song by a friend.

Those Who Fight On The Piano* 2:48 (19-02-06)
Reuben performs Those Who Fight On The Piano WIP2 "live" on You Tube
Final Fantasy 7's battle theme was one of the first few songs I learned by merely listening to the source and attempting to replicate the tune on the piano.
The excitement and sheer energy of this piece captured my imagination and I wanted to emulate the same energy in my arrangement.

Once Upon a Lifestream 20:20 (02-02-06)
The completed version of Lifestream overture. This medley of themes was arranged to walk the listener through final fantasy 7 again, through music. A wide range of styles and orchestrations were used in this epic masterpiece.

Setting Sail on Dreams 4:10 (03-09-05)
From Chrono Cross themes. A piano solo sets the mood of reminiscence, then an exciting ethnic orchestrac combination proved the excitement of the hope of the future.

A piano solo. Did this song in a mix of classical/jazz/rock style.

Legend of the Snake*
6:29 (17-07-04)    Keyword: OCR01322
This was an experiment to try and emulate roughly a mix of orchestral and digital beat arrangements as well as incorporate elements of both western new age and oriental new age together.   Something new to me but what I've always admired in Harry Gregson William's arrangements.

Ascension to Cosmo Canyon*3:16 (11-07-04)    Keyword: OCR01306
Cosmo Canyon from Final Fantasy 7 done with taiko drums, piano, and orchestra. Imagine a grand ascension taking place on top of cosmo canyon.   That was basically the image of my inspiration while working on this piece.

The man with a reversed edge sword

Here's a medley of many memorable themes composed by Noriyuki Asakura from Rurouni Kenshin. Done on a piano solo, duet, and quartet.

Musical Medley 5:03 (07-02-04)

Theme of Ryu (... for four pianos)* 1:38 (05-21-04)    Keyword: OCR01230

Princess Monoke Medley 4:31
One of my earlier piano arrangements, but also one of my favourites. Finally managed to record this thing down :) It starts slow and solemn at first, then builds up to a climax.

Final Fantasy Boss Medley 5:51
Medley from Final Fantasy boss battles using 4 pianos. It was through Mr Nobuo Uematsu that I discovered the piano's dynamicity as a percussion instrument. Each unforgettable melody in the unique rythms which He presented potrayed not only happy or sad emotions, but the excitement of a fight without the use of loud drums. This arrangement for 4 pianos and 1 pizzicato ensemble will take you through a fast ride down familiar melodies.

Medley from Naruto 5:51
This arrangement is based on the awesome original themes from Toshiro Masuda from the anime series Naruto. A slow, expressive piano solo which you may find familiar in the more sad parts of the series.

Medley from Shenmue* 5:10    Keyword: OCR01159
Reuben performs Shenmue Reflections for the piano "live" on You Tube
One of my earlier arrangements.  Inspired from Yuzo Koshiro's brilliant melodies from the DC game.  Although I never managed to play the game, I was captivated by the strong oriental influence when a friend lent me the OST. Thanks, Louis ;)
